 Internship Description

Our internship program equips students with hands-on work experience while offering a perspective on legal issues specific to rural communities.  Under the guidance of a staff member, students will have the opportunity to apply academic principles to a professional setting and participate in a learning environment outside the classroom.

Students will conduct legal research, review documents, and perform client case work.  All projects are assigned with the intent of familiarizing students with specific areas of the law; such areas include: divorce, custody, bankruptcy & consumer debt, wills & estates, landlord/tenant rights, housing & foreclosure issues.

Our internship program aims to satisfy the creative needs of both the student and the organization.  While students will be expected to meet certain goals established by our staff, they are also encouraged to work independently on projects that cater to their specific area of interest.

If interested, please submit the internship application (Internship Application.pdf) along with your resume to: anna@rurallawcenter.org.
